150 billion. The hoard of ‘iconic’ excursions and tourist experiences is attracting a great deal of interest

Getyourguide, Airbnb, Booking, TUI, Michel Faul (a famous tour guide), Staycation, numerous tourism players and famous platforms are now offering immersive visits to museums, privileged access to the Eiffel Tower, an overnight stay in an iconic location or one presented as such, or a dance lesson. So qualified tour guides have some serious competition when it comes to taking groups of clients to the Louvre.
For its 12th edition, the organisers of ECTFF, the customer experience forum, which will be held from 23 to 25 September in La Baule, have chosen to focus on a fascinating market, that of excursions and experiential tourism. It is worth over 150 billion dollars worldwide, and is highly fragmented.
For a year, a journalist from En-Contact magazine, the forum’s media partner, has been testing the players in this market, meeting tour guides and buying tours. He will be presenting the results of this benchmark on 24/09 during one of the Forum’s Master classes.
